U2 RETROSPECTIVE 2011

The year 2011 for U2 was one of the heaviest and history to the band. End of the biggest tour the world has ever seen, record breaking participation in the Glastonbury festival and relaunch the album Acthung Baby. Each of these things has its complexity and try to show them here as the year 2011 in the life of U2.

January

The year begins with Bono singing and attending the funeral of R. Sargent Shriver. The leader of U2 performed the song "Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace" with Glen Hansard from The Swell Season, in 22 days. The Euhippe U2's sound is the winner of the Best Tour Sound Production '2010 'at the annual TEC (Technical Excellence and Creativity) Awards in Los Angeles.

February

It's time to continue the 360 Tour. U2 starts the biggest tour in history playing for the first time in 12 years in Africa. There were two shows on the continent of Mandela: the first was in Johannesburg in 13 days. This first show was marked by unprecedented introduction U2 decided to do the tour. They started with an "Intro" remix of "Get On Your Boots" and opened, for good, the setlist, with "Beautiful Day", unpublished so far. There is the presence of Hugh Masekela on trumpet playing "I Still Have not Found What I'm looking for. "The second and final concert of the 360 Tour in Africa was in Cape Town, five days later. What was the last show in Africa, decided to make the transmission rate live on radio stations and African official website band to the world. Again "I Still Have not Found What I'm looking for" has a special role. This time, Yvonne Chaka Chaka aka "Princess of Africa" joins the band. The fans take a scare when the introduction of "City of Blinding ligths" is made of a mixture of "Fez-Being born with" Zooropa ", the latter would actually debut moments later on the tour. It was the first show of a tour of Cape Town and am U2's 360 Tour final in the African continent. The album is U2 Duals finally released the official SIET subscribers.

March

But she's back and time. On 25 happens the only show in Santiago, Chile, opening the South American tour. But the Chilean fans were well rewarded with "One Tree Hill" sung along with Francisca Valenzuela for the first time in Chile and throughout South America in Argentina's first show will take place on 30 at La Plata. The film "U23D back to be displayed in Brazilian theaters, on 25, 26 and 27, the Brazilian fans preparing for the shows that were to happen at the Morumbi Stadium in April.

April

The fourth month of the year begins with the last two shows in Argentina, also in La Plata, on days 2 and 3. It was the first time U2 toured outside Buenos Aires, in the country. The first marks the debut of "Even Better Than The Real Thing" on tour, it was not played from the Elevation Tour. It was a wise choice to make it the intro and remix, too bad for the tour late. It is considered the best song to start the 360 Tour. The third and final concert in Argentina was marked by omitting the first time on the tour of "Magnificent" from the setlist and the participation of León Gieco singing his song Sólo Dios Le Pido A, along with Bono on vocals and guitar. On days 9, 10 and 13, U2 puts his claw in the Morumbi Stadium in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The shows were in the country's football history, because with them the 360 ° tour became the highest grossing music history, surpassing the "Bigger Bang Tour" by the Rolling Stones. The first show has a setlist until normal. After "I Still Have not Found What I'm looking for," Bono sings "Happy Birthday" for Julian Lennon, who is present in the house. Before "Where the Streets Have No Name," Bono is a snipped of "Help", The Beatles. At the beginning of "Moment of Surrender" is one of the most emocionates the show. Days ago there was a brutal massacre at the Municipal School Tasso da Silveira in the neighborhood of Realengo, city of Rio de Janeiro. The names of children, victims of violence, appear on the screen of the show and Bono asks everyone to pray for them. Without doubt, one of the most exciting, not only at night, but the whole tour. The second show in Sao Paulo was more than historical: it was, in my opinion, the best show in the history of U2 and music. In it, "Out of Control" tour debut. It was decided to be played minutes before the band go on stage. The show continues and Bono declares his love for Brazil in the speech that precedes "I Still Have not Found What I'm looking for." The band plays "Pride" followed by "North Star". But the big surprise of the whole tour would come moments later. After "Miss Sarajevo", everyone expected the traditional "City of Blinding Lights", but U2 surprised fans and play for the first time entirely, "Zooropa." She had been played only during the Zoo TV Tour, half and three times only. It is the only one of three shows in Brazil that U2 played "Ultraviolet (Light My Way)". The third and last show in Brazil was broadcast via local radio throughout South America and saw the band's official site for everyone. "Zooropa" to be played back. The singer Seu Jorge joins Bono and Edge sing "The Model". According to Bono himself, in an interview with Brazilian magazine SEASON months later, the shows in Brazil were the best of the tour and he found that beautiful balloons in green, yellow and blue were shaken by the public every day in the song "Where the streets have no name. " The next day, the band celebrates the end of the South American tour in April in a location in Sao Paulo, and sings some songs in karaoke with the presence of the ex-football star Ronaldo.

May

This month marks the return of U2 to North America. It is the last leg of the tour. There were three shows in Mexico, the second of them, "Zooropa" is officially recorded for the band's website. At the last show, "All I Want Is You" and "Love Rescue Me" make their debuts on the tour, and "Love Rescue Me" had not been touched since the Lovetown Tour in 1990. On day 25, in Denver, U2 makes a show solely for 300 fans and participants of Special Olympics. This show had "Moment of Surrender" as closure, but marked with "All I Want Is You" and "Stay (Faraway, So Close!)

June and July

U2 takes the shows in the U.S. and Canada, and open the Glastonbury Festival on 24 June, which was broadcast live video on the internet. "Bad" was played for the second time this year the festival. "The Fly" tour debut at the show in Anaheim, California. An interesting show, for the first four songs were Acthung Baby album: "Even Better Than The Real Thing," "The Fly," "Mysterious Ways" and "Unti the end of the world," recalling the setlist of the Zoo TV Tour . The show in Nashville on July 2, was broadcast live via radio. In the same show, the band ends with "All I Want You i 'the presence of a fan of Bono playing the guitar. Later in the song, the leader of U2 presents the fan with this guitar. On July 30, the biggest tour of the world comes to an end in the city of Moncton, Canada. The show ends with "40", first performed on tour. The band says goodbye to the traditional way: each member comes out and goes to the back of the stage, and Larry, as always, is outcast, last playing. On July 18, Bono and Edge attend the David Letterman show, singing the acoustic version of "Stuck in a Moment," and spoke of the tour and the musical "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark."
