Bono was invited to carry the Olympic torch

The Olympic Council of Ireland made ​​the call last week, that Bono is one of the people to carry the Olympic torch in Dublin. Also invited were President Michael Higgins, the golfer Rory McElroy, the rugby star Brian O'Driscoll and celebrity Jeward.

The torch will be brought to Croke Park, where special parade on a catwalk through the roof of the stadium. The torch will be brought to the UK for a national tour to Belfast before the opening of the Olympics in London on July 27.

Samsung, Coca-Cola and Lloyds Bank are investing millions in sponsorship of the official Olympic torch tour through Ireland and Britain.
