That's right. Let me be clear that this is my opinion and of course each one has its best version. Often depends on the moment, but if it is to choose a single version of U2's best songs, I choose these:
The early 90s was a period in which the U2 impressed critics to re-imagine their own music with the release of Achtung Baby. 20 years later, the band revisited and this time, digging files, found a stockpile of unreleased tracks, collaborations precious, lost remixes and rarities cult-style side B. In addition to never before heard tracks, produced in the studios of Berlin and Dublin, the new material brings live performances and commercially unreleased videos, and club hits and appearances by special guests. Achtung Baby incorporates a multitude of ideas and styles, all represented in the mosaic that is the album cover. The photo collage qudradas symbolizes the spirit of 90 years and the changes in Europe after the fall of the Berlin wall. To celebrate its twentieth anniversary, the U2 team, including designer Shaughn McGrath and the original photographer, Anton Corbijn, are inviting artists to submit a photo or art that reflects the global environment of today. The photograph or artwork should express the same meaning in this cover of Achtung Baby. If Achtung Baby was released today, which photographs or art would be part of this collage?
UME announced that a documentary film about the making of U2's Achtung Baby, entitled From The Sky Down, will be released worldwide on Blu-ray and DVD on December 12th, 2011, ahead of a U.S. release on January 24th, 2012.
Earlier this year, U2 returned to Hansa Studios in Berlin to discuss the making of Achtung Baby. From The Sky Down, is a documentary film directed by Academy Award winning director Davis Guggenheim (It Might Get Loud, Waiting for Superman, An Inconvenient Truth).
Bono, Chris Martin of Coldplay, and other artists attended the ceremony, the honoring the photographer and filmmaker Anton Corbjin. The Dutchman was awarded the Prins Bernhard Cultural Foundation 2011, which is given to those who work on culture, from the hand of Princess Maxima, in Amsterdam.
The most expensive musical in history, "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark", breaking the record for the Foxwood Theatre, earning little more than $ 2 million at the box office. The musical has been criticized, many presentations were canceled at the beginning due to accidents with the cast and internal problems. Recently, Julie Taymor, former director of the show, sued the producers for violation of your copyright (See more about that here.). "We were strongly committed to the premiere of this show and do what we could to the Spider-Man was in New York this year and for years to come," said producers Michael Cohl and Jeremiah Harris. The show is the soundtrack to Bono and The Edge of our beloved band U2.
Noel Gallagher, former member of Oasis now follows a solo career, said "be happy" to play with Coldplay or U2. In one of his interviews all day crowd the music sites, Noel Gallagher said he would work with "anyone who has sold 50 million records." "I was never invited to a partnership. I guess I do not reject with any of Coldplay or U2, "told the Sunday Mirror. Is this confirmation that the former member of the Oasis is a true charlatan?

The renowned actor Robin Williams, who made a crazy babysitter in the film Mrs. Doubtfire, says he is always confused with U2's Bono.
Once a guy asked me in Paris: 'Are you Bono?'. So I said 'no, no, you're Robert Windsor,' "said the actor.
"I'm just confused with Bono for people who are very drunk. I think when I wear sunglasses, I'm a bit like," joked the actor, said that he can not imitate the Irish accent of the "double". "The accent is one thing I can not get. I get to do and soon disappears. I always end up talking like a Scotsman."
In my opinion I think that they are very similar, yes.
U2 singer Bono and guitarist The Edge were supposed to be part of our Friday feature asking about movies they'd recommend to aspiring young talent.
But, like Frank Sinatra, who Bono once sang a duet with, they did things their own way. They didn't exactly answer our question -- What one movie would you recommend an aspiring young actor or director see, and why? -- but they spoke with conviction about two favorite albums (Torches and Horses) and one movie (It Might Get Loud).
Bono and The Edge were talking to TIFF's Thom Powers during the festival last September. It was an on-stage interview to promote Davis Guggenheim’s opening gala film From the Sky Down, a documentary on the difficult creation of U2's 1991 album, Achtung Baby.

One of the problems faced by music stars throughout their careers is leaving to spend special moments with family, as the big Christmas and New year. But Rihanna, who on Thursday (24) Thanksgiving is in Ireland for presentation in Dublin, found a way to compensate for this distance at least, give her and her team for a bash to celebrate the holiday, one of the main U.S. and Canada. The information is from the British tabloid Daily Star.

The world renowned music magazine Rolling Stones made lists qualifying, putting the world's best performers in their categories, reanking. Following the placement of U2:

If you didn't already know, U2's seminal early-'90s classic celebrated its 20th anniversary this weekend. Largely written and recorded in Berlin with producers Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois, the album was a stark stylistic departure from their earnest, arena-friendly sound—Achtung Baby embraced irony, decadence, dance music, and Euro-centric post-modernism... it also had some of the band's best songs of all time.
Today, the best live album in history complete 28 years of age. Under a blood red sky was launched aiming to promote the War Tour. It was the first U2 live record, recorded at Red Rocks Amphitheatre Morrison, Colorado (near Denver) in the United States. A heavy rain threatened the show, but as U2 had spent so much money with Island Records, decided to do it anyway. And it worked. The rain left the show even more beautiful. Rolling Stones magazine put as the best live recording of the 80's and the video for 'Sunday Bloody Sunday "as one of the 50 moments that changed the history of Rock and Roll. This video was included on the DVD U2 18 Videos of 2006.

I made a special video about the coming of U2 in Brazil in April this year. Shows summary of just about everything that happened in the days before the shows and, of course, their own shows. The video had to be divided into two parts. I hope that the Brazilian fans who see this feel a little bit of emotion that was everything, and who is not Brazilian, see also, after all, U2 is never enough! Enjoy it.
U2 release Acthung Baby worldwide. The album cover features a colorful collage of 16 small photos, a vivid change from the black and white image that distinguished The Joshua Tere e Rattle and Hum albums. The inner sleeve includes a small photo of a naked Adam Clayton, prompting many stores in North America to threaten not selling the album because of the full-frontal nudity. Island Records quickly covers Adam, adding na black "X" or green shamrock over the picture on the CD and cassete version of Acthung Baby. The small amount of vinyl that is printed in North America retains the original, uncensored the photo.
I made another edition of a U2 song live here in Brazil. This time it's Where the streets have no name live at Morumbi Stadium, São Paulo, April 13, 2011. I hope you enjoy it and comment.
Further proof for those who still think that U2 really will end next year. The band was seen entering his studio in Dublin, Hanover Quay Studio. Bono had time to give some autographs at the door of the studio and take pictures. The next album will probably be called "Songs of Ascent." U2 bought the Hanover Quay Studio in the early 90's, and of course, is one of the studios where the newly reissued album Achtung Baby was made 20 years ago.
The singer Patricio Manns, who qualified for the International Competition Festival of Vina del Mar with the Theme on Camiroaga Felipe, "Felipe is looking from the bottom of the sea," said they have plans for major international artists recorded. "The song will make his way alone, without the need of Vina del Mar, because we drive. I have great singers projects to bring it into their countries, like Bono, for example," in A New Tomorrow. Manns said that "some time" is in talks with the leader of U2 "through a friend who is close friends with him and lives here in Con Con, Chile then when you get it or perhaps have the list sent before for the song here in Chile. "The author explained that compose this song for the late entertainer "was an idea that was born of the búqueda me the bodies of the disappeared in Juan Fernandez, who was an everyday thing in the media." "And suddenly I was sitting and said, 'Philip is sitting at the bottom of the
If before, Leroy Bell, had sung "I Still Have not Found What I'm looking for" and please everyone, this time Drew, one of the competitors of the "X Factor" sang "With or Without You", but had jury did not like. In my simple opinion, although the version of the song was very different from normal, pulling an almost acoustic, she did very well and has a great voice. Below is the video of his performance, look and draw your conclusions:
These days I was seeing U2 videos on the net, when I came across one made by Brazilians in front of Bono's house in Ireland. He was going to last U2 concert in Ireland for the 360 Tour. But one of the comments, of course, was done by an Irishman was as follows:
"Brazilians FUCKING NOBODY LIKES YOU .... GET THE FUCK OUT OF THIS COUNTRY ... YOU ARE LIKE A Plague ...... GO BACK TO YOUR FUCKING POOR COUNTRY "
This is the video. Go to youtube if you want to see the comment.
That's over a case of xenophobia stupid happens, Irish are against the entry of Brazilians think we are poor and do not benefit at all to Ireland, and who is now with the crisis we are not Brazilian, but they have now to worsen want to put tougher laws against immigrants, ie, a country so beautiful, where was formed a band born of peace and a man like Bono, and there are people who hate foreigners, Bono himself these hours should be ashamed.
An account of the prejudice in Ireland and my view on xenophobia. I hope you agree with me regarding this ridiculous scenario of society that are considered more evolved on Earth. It is really absurd. I know many people will not read because it is a little big, but I think it's worth stopping to see beautiful pictures and gifs cute for a minute and open your eyes to the world in which we live. They are 5 minutes. Perhaps you can reflect on something today ... "Foreigners do not deserve respect? The testimony of Tibiriçá Thais, a Brazilian who suffered abuse in Ireland For almost a year I participated as a reporter of this site. Our goal has always been writing about human rights violations, censorship, denial of liberty. And had to get to Europe to feel everything that happens to me. I decided to come to Spain and study at a university as an exchange agreement with the University Federal Fluminense (UFF / RJ).I have a student visa to attend a semester at the Universidad de la Coruna in La Coruna, Galicia region. I'm living in Spain for four months, and my Holy Week vacation with two friends went to Ireland. To our surprise we were denied entry into Dublin and taken to a women's prison (I I my friend Maria Dias) and male (our friend Andrew St. Peter). The justification of Irish immigration police was that we did not have enough money to spend six days in the country. However, three of us had 350 euros each into cash, in addition to our international credit cards. According to immigration, credit card is not proof of cash. Visa Will not work there? After being denied entry, without knowing we were taken to prison, and stay with our passports and original documents of the universities that are studying here in Europe. They ignored the roles of universities, and also questioned why they were not in English. Contest that was the language of the country in which we live, it is an original documentation. We realized that they would not let us go anyway, then ask a link to the Brazilian Embassy. Again we were ignored. Upon entering the prison Dochais Centre had to leave all my belongings to the police when I say all are all the same. I received a plastic bag with towel, blanket, a pair of panties and a blouse (which were at least mine). Mary was not so lucky: the police let her just take your glasses and contact lens eye drops, nothing more. Stay with their clothes for two days. In these two days we had to shower in front of guards, and the quiz prison nurse, pass a medical, participate in common meals with the inmates in our prison ... there were women who were serving time for drug trafficking and other for murder. We met and talked with some of them, even the Brazilian Embassy in Dublin, in the voice of Elza Soares, he said he did not live with these people. Yes, we've dealt with these people, and I'm not here to judge them. The violation of our rights is not made by them but by Irish immigration police, claiming unreal, just do not let us in Ireland, and to complete, took us to a prison and deprived us of our freedom, leaving we there for two days without the possibility of a connection. Our only connection request was granted on the second day. The Sister Mary, who takes care of prisoners, has helped us to speak with the director of the prison, which had been touched and let us make a call of 6 minutes. My friend Andrew, who was in the male prison, could not make any calls, and to question his presence there received the following response: "This is not immigration, it is a prison." They were my parents and told Mary that the Embassy of Brazil in Dublin, and on Saturday morning a representative visited us, warning us of possible output. To try to calm down, said this was the normal procedure, but that only made me more distraught and wondered how many Brazilians have gone through this and could never report this humiliation. Many others must have felt embarrassed and just want to forget everything. My friends and I just feel an aversion to the way foreigners are treated in Ireland. The guard of immigration made it very clear talking to us that the presence of Brazilians are not welcome and we have nothing to see in Ireland. Yes, these words were used. We are more outraged that our government deal with the case so carefree, and have the courage to say that this is a common procedure, because the Irish Immigration is not a place for the deportees. Readers, imagine if Irish students were barred from entering Brazil, and taken to a jail. Happen a diplomatic war. The experience was worth to see how the world is upside down. The so-called globalization are leaving more developed countries considered crazy. And Europe is the most visible to notice all these changes. Immigration from less developed countries of the European Union and economic growth that does not follow all the movements of people are averse to leaving the European countries called here to be underdeveloped. The xenophobia of the Irish is clear when entering the room deported from the airport. The messages on the walls of people are always considered second tier. Along with Mary and I was also in the same situation a Brazilian 35 years, whose name I prefer not to mention, because she does not know what I'm writing. This woman is a nurse in Brazil for over 10 years, took 1500 euros into cash, round-trip ticket from Brazil, two credit cards, hotel booked and paid. The immigration police response was that it was a nice person, but could not prove their profession in the country. Just to travel to Ireland on vacation you need to have proof of a professional activity in the country of origin. The situation is chaotic in the country of James Joyce. The Irish authorities had signed a week before our arrival a law that will make more difficult the entry of people do not sit well with them. Too bad they say that censorship and violation of human rights was something only the dictatorships. And now how countries are dealing with foreigners? " ---- I was extremely saddened by this story. I admire Ireland, culture mostly. It may be ridiculous, I admit, but I confess: when I read the excerpt "The guard of immigration made it very clear talking to us that the presence of Brazilians are not welcome and we have nothing to see in Ireland. 'Almost wept for surprise and fear. Surprise is so strong so that the Irish have an aversion to foreigners, including Brazilians, and afraid to go there one day to try to fulfill my dream and go through a situation like this or some like many others that we see out there (be the target of physical aggression by racist groups for example). What makes me more thoughtful about it is that Brazilians receive foreigners with the greatest attention and respect (of course we have exceptions in the world have.). I can almost say that we treat for them. Respect, welcome, if they need help, etc.. Any alien who arrives in Brazil, I'm sure, will be super welcome! But if the situation is contrary, suffer and go through this humiliation. We are ill-treated, poorly attended, ignored, caught, it's ridiculous! Sometimes not even look at us in the face! After all, what is the reason for the hatred of foreigners? What is the explanation to exclude a person from society by their skin color? So to say that only because I'm white, blue eyes I'm evil character? I kill people, to terrorism, I am a bandit? Is that it? I'm dishonest? I can not understand, I will not. It is because European countries are more developed and classified as "1st World" and then the rest of the world does not pay? They do not want a mix with his people all perfect and just right, is it? Well, I'll say one more thing: they now snubbed, mistreat, beat, kill, humiliate and all the rest of the story we already know and need not repeat, but they forget that the reason for the "2nd and 3rd Worlds "are less developed is their fault that they were" discovering "new lands simply exploited to the core of the bones of the natives of these lands they occupied, removed everything that could take advantage of each soil, let alone a people scrambled to their culture, without their riches. They smashed the tribes, just with different cultures, beliefs. They have imposed on people who lived there and forced to work for them. And then they left, whether by fighting with the original people or lack of interest in the lands already finished, leaving the whole mess a natural society. Traces of their tickets were marked and reflect these colonized countries today. If developing countries are really underdeveloped until today I'm sure you are not so random. The settlers took everything they could: gold, precious stones, nature, people became slaves, animals, everything! Simply everything and now we turn away. They do not help countries that have suffered in their hands in the past. They ignore. It is these times that I really anger of those people who consider themselves superior simply because they are Europeans, Americans, etc ... People are being judged by appearance, in fact, we should look at the character of each one. I hope one day to go to Ireland and prove that Brazilians are so human and worthy of attention and respect as any Irishman.Anyone in the world deserves to be treated with all their rights. All are free. No matter where it comes from, where he was born, lived or lives, skin color, hair type, whether it's blond, red, brown, one is white, albino or black. It makes no difference whether the high, low, dwarf, have disabilities, is gifted, has a hard, rich, poor, or Mercedes will walk the same walk, if you have tattoos, piercings, colored hair, you can hear rock, samba, soul, jazz, funk, metal, pop, rap, you wear black or loves the colors, etc ... Never mind any of that. What we have to stop to see is the character. Only then will we see who is who. I hope I was clear. I was really sad about the matter. Let's stop this, please. Everyone talks of humanity, love and peace but do not see many people act the way they preach. Prejudice is a lack of knowledge, is to judge without knowing. Racism is seen in the appearance of your character is another thing that has nothing to do with another. Xenophobia is not respecting others because of their nationality. In the end, everything is lack of knowledge. Conclusion: People today are false and ignorant. I think I need not say more ...
The album titled (Ǎhk-to ͝ ong Bay-Bi) Covered, recently released, featuring covers of songs from the album Achtung Baby U2, by great artists, will have part of their profit from sales of iTunes used to help the terrible famine that raged in the east African. Former Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark director Julie Taymor has criticised U2's Bono and The Edge for their role in axing her from the musical.
Taymor, who was sacked from her role earlier this year after spending nine years working on the show, said she was fired and criticised by people who had no idea of what was going on behind the scenes.
Taymor, who had been described by U2 guitarist The Edge as being "overwraught" and "exhausted" before she was sacked, told Esquire magazine: "There's no doubt by the end of February, when I felt all of this stuff happening, that I was exhausted by that, but not by the show and not by the inspiration I was getting from the actors."
In an interview with Channel RTE, Florence Welch, lead singer of Florence and the Machine, said he learned to dance in high heels with Bono: "Bono taught me to dance in high heels and also told me about the performance at Glastonbury festival - how everything that could go wrong went wrong, including him tearing his pants on stage. he told me he had to find a new way of singing that does not involve having to move. "Florence said.
Recently, in an interview with "Q," Bono said that was the fault of the DJ's main stage at Glastonbury festival, which damaged the computer and was unlucky to wear the wrong shoes that day. "I went to the stage and realized that was like an ice rink (the rain had frozen) and I was wearing the wrong shoes. I could not move, "he said.
I made another new video. I tried mixing scenes of 360 degrees to the Zoo TV in the song "Even better than the real thing." I hope you enjoy and sorry because Youtube puts the black edges in places video.
U2 was live criticized by the widow of Kurt Cobain crazy, Courtney Love, at the SWU festival, which takes place on 12, 13 and 14 November in Paulina, San Paulo: "Today we'll play some songs on [U2 album] 'Achtung Baby '. since Bono never called me to open a U2 concert, I'll play' The Fly 'and go off. "
U2 accepting award on Irish TV in March 1988. They were named "Best International Group" at the official Irish Music Awards sponsored by the Milk Marketing Board.

The night's big winners were U2, who wrapped up its two-year-long, record-book-shattering 360° Tour in July; and Journey, who took home the "Legend of Live" award honoring its 38 years of touring. U2 brought home the Top Tour Award and Top Draw Award, which acknowledged the band's top grossing and ticket selling tours, respectively, for its 360° Tour.
Jason Aldean received the Breakthrough Award, and the Concert Marketing & Promotion Award went to Taylor Swift and her Speak Now World Tour 2011, sponsored by Covergirl. Bon Jovi received the Eventful Fans' Choice Award, which is determined by fan "demands" at Eventful.com.
Red Light Management founder Coran Capshaw, who cut his teeth touring with the Grateful Dead, received the Humanitarian Award, and Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell received the inaugural Apple Award, honoring the legacy of legendary concert promoter Bill Graham.
The leader of U2 sent a letter with a message improves the former Brazilian president, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who since last week are dealing with a cancer of the larynx. Bono Lula met at conferences, and especially when the band came to Brazil in 2006 for the Vertigo Tour in two shows at Morumbi. Bono also said he would include him in your prayers.
The "X Factor" is a reality show franchise originating in the United Kingdom. It was designed as a replacement to Pop Idol, the program that gave rise to what today are the American Idol and all derivatives of this franchise Fremantle Media. It is a singing competition that is already held in different countries.
One participant called Leroy Bell, he performed the song "I Still Haven't Found What I'm looking for," which touched everyone. It was more like the version of the album "Rattle and Hum 'than the version of" The Joshua Tree "for having backing vocals. Juries find it perfect.
And, as incredible as it sounds, Leroy is 60 years since the "X Factor" does not limit the age to participate.
With years of experience in touring, Jake Berry, producer of the most expensive tour in music history (360), says it was like working in this enormous project. It reveals that the tour was harder and more rewarding than ever attended: "It was the longest production load out that I've ever Experienced in 30 years. I've had breakfast on the load out, but I've Never Had lunch . "
The Claw at Morumbi Stadium, São Paulo, Brazil.
Indeed, the 360 ° tour of impressed even the most musically unpleasant. It completed the tour of the world grossing $ 736,137,344 and enabled a number of 7,268,430 of fans to see live, lasting a little over two years since its debut in Barcelona, with the band on One making mistakes to emocionate goodbye to Moncton on music 40. Its structure scares. It weighs 400 tons and hundreds of trucks were needed to carry the claw around the world. That's because there is not only one structure, but three. While one is used, another is dismantled and a third is already mounted in another city. A challenge for very few people: "People stop on the highway to take a picture of this alien ship landing in a small, sleep Belgian town was pretty fun. And then moving it for the first time ..."
Here's an interview, where Jake talks about the tour and the sad end.
